My first award and what it means for you

My first award and what it means for you

In June 2026 I received my first award at the Editors' Selection, the wedding photography contest run by fotografi-cameramani.ro. A week later came the second awarded image, then a few more mentions. I'll admit it, I was as happy as a kid.

What I'm proudest of is something else, though. None of the awarded images were staged. They are moments from real weddings in and around Brașov, caught exactly as they happened. Nobody posed for them.

And that, really, is my promise to you. On your wedding day you don't have to think about the camera. You laugh, cry, dance and hug the people you love. I take care of the rest.

Since many of you are right in the middle of choosing a photographer, here is some honest advice that matters more than any certificate:

Ask to see a full gallery, not just the best ten shots. Every photographer has a few spectacular frames. A whole wedding, from the morning to the last dance, shows you how they really work.

Pay attention to how they communicate. Do they answer clearly? Do they ask about you, not just your budget? The way they talk to you before the wedding is the way they'll behave on the day, with you and with your guests.

Ask what happens to the photos after the event: how you receive them, in what format, whether they keep a backup copy. A professional answers all of that without hesitating.

And maybe most importantly, choose someone you feel good around. They'll be next to you for a whole day, in your most emotional moments. Chemistry matters.

Awards are a lovely sign that I'm on the right path. But most of all I thank the couples who trust me to document their memories. The path itself stays the same: stay close, don't get in the way, wait for the moment.
